Bedding

Put in Garbage Cart

DO NOT place bedding in your curbside yellow recycling cart or green waste cart.

Donate used textiles to charitable organizations and give back to your community. Some charities will even pick up items as long as the items are clean and in reusable condition.

See the Donation Locations page for information on local donation and reuse centers.

Ways to Reuse

Donate to a Shelter or Sanctuary

Animal sanctuaries, homeless shelters, and women’s shelters often accept old bedding that is still in good condition (i.e. no rips, tears, or stains). The Humane Society and many secondhand stores do not accept it, so check before donating.

Turn Into Drop Cloths

Old linens can be used as drop cloths for messy projects or as slipcovers for items in storage. They can also be cut up into cleaning rags to be used around the house.
