Notes From the Field: Missed Christmas Tree Pickup? 1-15-2019 Uh oh, you’ve missed Christmas Tree pickup! Here’s what you need to do: If the tree is free of decorations, tinsel and stand, cut it up and place it in your green cart. If your tree has been flocked/spray painted, it cannot be composted and must be cut up and placed in your trash cart. Trees can also be taken to any San Joaquin County Landfill facility. As a reminder, Christmas trees are collected in the City of Stockton between the weeks of Dec 26 – Jan 15 each season. Read more Notes From the Field.
Notes From the Field: Bag Leaves at Curbside 12-9-2018 Leaf season is here! The only leaves on the street should be in bags! From Oct 1 – Dec 31, you may put up to 5 bags of leaves (only leaves) out with your green cart for weekly service. Please keep leaves out of the street to prevent storm drains from clogging! Notes From the Field: Strollers Do Not Go In the Recycle Cart 9-20-18 Strollers do not go in the recycle cart. Strollers have a variety of materials in them. Most have a cloth seat, plastic, and metal. If you do not deconstruct the stroller and sort out the recyclable materials for recycling, please put the entire stroller in the trash. Notes From the Field: Amazon Plastic Shipping Envelopes Do Not Go in the Recycle Cart! 6-27-18 Shipping envelopes that are plastic and have bubble wrap inside of them cannot be placed in the curbside recycling cart. They must be put in the curbside trash cart. You can also drop them off at a store that collects plastic bags for recycling. Notes From the Field: No Fireworks or Their Containers in Recycling 6-6-18 Used fireworks do not go in the recycling bin! Dispose of fireworks properly by soaking them in water and then disposing them in your trash can. The cardboard packaging and containers for fireworks (such as sparklers) have chemicals on them, so those containers also belong in the trash.
